Puaʻikeana Presents 23rd Annual Lūʻau \"Ka Huakaʻi: The Voyage\" ^{New! Popular}

Puaʻikeana's 2025 Lūʻau theme is Ka Huakaʻi, The Voyage, inspired by the wonder of Polynesian wayfinding. Pacific Islanders used observations of the natural world—the sun, stars, moon, wind, waves, and birds—to navigate throughout the Pacific without modern technology or Western instruments. As we navigate these new chapters of our lives from our new homes here in Orange, California, we look to the values of wayfinding to ground us and guide us. Pua’ikeana seeks to foster a sense of community, give opportunities for service and mālama ʻāina (land stewardship), and encourage curiosity and exploration; all of which are integral to the heart of voyaging. In our Lūʻau, we hope to take you on a huakaʻi (voyage), around the Hawaiian Islands, across the Pacific to California, and back. Pua'ikeana strives to foster a family, 'ohana, that shares and celebrates Hawai'i's cultural dynamic. Supported by the belief that each of us are “blooming from within,” we bring together students from Hawai'i as well as those eager to learn about our islands, building connections through cultural events, traditions, and the spirit of aloha. Through community engagement and mutual support, we honor our roots while creating a vibrant community for all at Chapman University.
